Meet our Team
Everyone who contributes to the Cache County Christmas Car Project is part of our fantastic team. However, we do want to take a minute and highlight some of the key players.
The Hansens
Jason Hansen is the mastermind of the Cache County Christmas Car Project. He is a mechanic, and also serves on the Cache County Search and Rescue and the Hyrum City Fire Department.
Kristie Hansen goes along with all of Jason's crazy ideas, and helps to make his vision a reality. She works at Utah State University and also serves in the United States Army Reserves.
Jason and Kristie have been married for 21 years and have three kids. They love our National Parks, grilling and smoking good foods, and doing crazy things together.
Both Jason and Kristie serve as board members.
The Mortensens
Ty and Kandice Mortinsen have supported the Cache County Christmas Car Project since 2021. Ty is on Cache County Search and Rescue with Jason, and he is also good friends with Santa.
Kandice is a pro at helping prepare Santa at the drop of a hat, any time of year. She is currently completing her degree in Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Weber State University. She also is an amazing photographer, and has taken many of the amazing photos for this site.
Together Ty and Kandice have three children.
Both Ty and Kandice serve as board members.
Santa Claus
Santa serves as our delivery coordinator. While he is very busy during the Holiday season, he always drops what he is doing to help deliver a Christmas Car.
Other team members
Additional Team members help in many ways. Here are a few.
Becky Hemsley
One of the best elves we have ever had during the 2023 season, Becky is now serving as a 2024 staff member.
Nick DiSalvo
Nick generously donated his time and materials to craft our keychains and Christmas ornaments in a rush. He also serves on Hyrum City Fire department as well as Cache County Search and Rescue with Jason and Ty. He is now serving as a 2024 staff member.
Amy Simmons
Owner and CEO of Salt Hollow Massage, Amy generously shared her business space for our 2023 Wrapping party. She is now serving as a 2024 staff member.
Ashe Hansen
Daughter of Jason and Kristie, Ashe has been supporting the Cache County Christmas Car Project by designing and creating Christmas Cards and Logos since 2016.
Mike Kelley
Mike develops, fixes, and manages all the IT stuff that is way over Kristie's head. He donates his time, funds, and knowledge to our cause. He is the reason we have a website! Thank you Mike!!
Mike Weeks
Mike Weeks was our original friend of Santa. He passed away Sept 25 2024. Thank you Mike for your years of service to the Christmas Car Project. Your laughter and joy was contagious, and we will miss you, dear friend.
